What was the highlight of Koh Chang Resort
Nice hotel and perfect location, let down by small but important details
Beach is lovely. Breakfast was ok. Location is perfect. Staff generally friendly.
Hot water was turned off for our last 2 days, as the rest of the hotel was empty. Our toilet was not cleaned properly and stains left. On one day the cleaner woke as at 9am to clean our room!

We didn’t stay despite having paid
We went prior to our stay and to be honest the place looked so run down old pool was tiny we decided to not stay there at all despite having paid and it being non refundable we just didn’t want to waist the last 3 days of our holiday there
The decor was awful outside lots of ancient paintwork the bar toilets were awful and the pool wa tiny for the amount of Rooms

needs a refurbishment and better management
what i like was the location, interesting location and directly on the beach !
we checked in our room and there was other guest in our room!!! then I went back to the reception and they showed us another room which I preferred but a minute after there was already new guest coming in that room. so we stayed in the first room at the end and they changed the little bulb while we were there (5pm) plus they cleaned the room again. and after that the staff at the reception never greeted us again for the 3 days we were there. the room was noisy was well from a pump upstairs

What was the highlight of Koh Chang Resort
A once nice resort that has fallen on hard times. There are much better alternatives. Avoid.
The hotel has a very nice beach.
The hotel was probably very nice when it was built 30 or 40 years ago but the maintenance and upkeep have been minimal since then. The bedding was very old, pillow matted and very heavy in a way pillow should not be heavy. The blankets and sheets were more grey than white. The 19 inch Sony tv in my room was at least 30 years old. (A hat tip to Sony for making such a durable tv.) The beach was nice but there were very few chairs there and I was never able to find a free one during the day so I was actually able to get very little use of the beach. Fortunately this resort is located next to Paradise Ko Chang Resort and I had access to that beach and property which is excellent and well-maintained. Breakfast at Koh Chang Resort was terrible. The kitchen appears to be understaffed so and there were considerable periods in which little that was edible was available causing a needless wait in a bleak environment. As a westerner I realize Thai breakfasts might not be what I prefer but this food was really not worth waiting for. After the first morning I did not bother to go for breakfast.
